Carne Asada


Classic Mexican fare: grilled steak with onions and peppers & stuffed into tacos. Perfect for a barbecue or a ridiculously easy weeknight meal.

Serves: 8-10

Ingredients:

-1.5kg skirt or flank steak, or any other thinly sliced steak, pork, or chicken

-2 onions

-2-3 jalepenos, seeded and sliced

-oil for frying

-1tbs Worcestershire sauce

-1tbs salsa maggi

-2tbs beer of your choice (we used dos equis)

-2 limes

-salt, to taste

Directions:

1. In a large frying pan, cover the bottom with a thin layer of oil. Fry steaks in oil over medium-high heat, about 5-10 minutes.

2. When steaks are about half-way done, add jalapeño, onion, salsa Maggi, Worcestershire sauce, beer, and squeezed limes. Continue cooking for another 5-10 minutes, until steaks are cooked through and onions and peppers are nice and caramelized. Add salt to taste.

Stuff in tacos and serve with guacamole or one of our delicious salsa :)
