Little smokey, little punchy little sweet. Lots delicious.
Ingredients:
-20 roma tomatoes
-2 garlic cloves
-half a cup of chiltepín chiles
.5 TBS salt
Directions:
1. In a shallow pan or on a comal, toast the tomatoes until blackened on each side.
2. When the tomatoes are done, toast the chiles by moving them around with a spoon for about a minute. They'll get a little darker but shouldn't be blackened or they'll be too bitter.
3. Put the tomatoes and chiles in a blender or molcajete with garlic and salt. Pulse until desired consistency!
Serve and enjoy :)
Optional: you can toast the garlic as well for a smokier flavor.
